Hubble Captures the Galaxy’s Biggest Ongoing Stellar Fireworks Show

My favorite genre of YouTube videos is Tool Reactions

What the title says.

I LOVE reaction videos. My partner doesn’t get it because to him, What’s the point? And I can see the silliness of how meta it is… people watching people reacting to people. I even feel that way when I see my daughter watching those reaction videos made for kids (“Try not to say WOW” challenge” videos, stuff like that).

But something really gets me about watching people experience my favorite bands for the first time. Tool, in particular.

They’re one of those bands that are so excellent in all areas, so devoted to their craft, so keyed in, that they manage to deliver beautiful, layered, interesting music I never get tired of. Besides, I grew up on their music. It feels like home.

So this is a rabbit hole I go down every now and then. And I fell back in deep this week.

It all started with this wildly fun video…

(This Drumeo series is excellent; read more about it here.)

Which led me to this fantastic video…

Which is how I stumbled onto this video…

Which brought me to this excellent reaction…

Which led me to these amazing reactions…

(These guys have awesome reactions to Tool. Full De & Dre Tool reactions playlist here.)

I’ll stop there because that’s basically it. That’s the point of this post.

I love experiencing Tool’s music, especially through other people’s first time reactions. They’re enduring masters of their craft and eternal students of their curiosities and I find that inspiring for all areas of my life so maybe that’s the real reason I keep diving back into this rabbit hole. This pocket of YouTube sparks something powerful in me and apparently thousands of other people soooo get into it 😘 (For another post on an outstanding vocal musical performance, check out my post Yebba – My Mind.)

Now I’ll be watching Tool’s 1996 show at The Glass House in Pomona, CA (their first time performing Aenima – incidentally my first ever Tool album).

And I’ll leave you with this Michael Jackson quote that they shared in the TRYBALS video above:

The greatest education in the world is watching the masters at work.

Michael Jackson
