Sometimes you need to take time to reflect on yourself… where you are in life, who you are, and who you’re becoming.
Without self-reflection, you’ll keep drifting through life on autopilot and one day you’ll realize you’re not the director of your life.
As Tony Robbins says, “Ten years from today you will surely arrive, the question is, where?”
So take some time to reflect upon who and where you are and reset if needed.
This can take as much or as little time as you want, but I like to spend at least 20 minutes journaling on this. If I get started, I can usually keep going as long as I have time to keep writing.
And remember, journaling is a completely personal process! You don’t have to answer all prompts. You can simply write to the one that speaks to you most. Or maybe you write something completely different, but that’s been inspired by these prompts.
The point is to take some time to reflect on who you are, where you are, and where you’re going so that you can make informed decisions on how you live your life moving forward.
- Who did I want to be when I was younger, and who am I now? Who do I want to be now?
- What kind of life do I want to live? -or- What, to me, is a great life?
- What area of my life do I want to be great? Where are things falling short, and what do I want things to be like instead?
- Who am I to the people closest to me? How does my presence in their lives affect them?
- Who do I admire? Who am I inspired by? What qualities about them, their lives, or what they do appeal to me most? How can I start embodying those qualities in my own life?
